Cozy and romantic,Tanti Baci, located in the West Village reminds us of a tiny restaurant we stumbled across years ago in Venice. Superb Italian food and ambiance for over a decade yet still feels like a secret. Between West 10th & Charles Street on Seventh Avenue South. 212-727-8333.

Woodley and Bunny has successfully combined a hair salon and product emporium in a very large & attractive space. The whole block has recently sprung new shops and businesses worth a look. Go to #490 Driggs Avenue in N. Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 718-218-6588 or www.woodleyandbunny.com

Visiting Journey, located in dumbo, Brooklyn, is like a trip around the world. Skin products, furnishings, accessories, and more tucked into a large space under the bridges at #166 Water Street. 718-797-9277

  • REINVENTIONS: Need a change? Don't know where to start or what to do? Clear the clutter first! Sort out your closets, drawers and other neglected areas then take stock. Not only a proven confidence booster, this simple chore can actually create more time and the peace of mind that purging can engender. It's also an excellent way to refocus on important issues and clean out the emotional clutter along with all that other 'stuff'. This simple and free exercise also enables you to re-evaluate your emotional attachments to objects and material needs. Forcing change is far better than procrastinating and lessens the fear factor. You may very well be amazed at what you find. Don't forget to donate items in good repair to a charity thrift shop or dress-for-success organization. A feel-good move that can help make a big difference in someone else's life.

Guides are $10. each payable by cash, cheque, or money order. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
